Analyse the ways distinctive perspectives of family and belonging are
conveyed in at least TWO of these texts. - 5 marks

How many pages would you write?

Would you pick two texts and discuss how their techniques give different perspectives of family and belonging?

Then would you contrast between the two or just leave 1 paragraph each since it's analyse?

1 page

Would you pick two texts and discuss how their techniques give different perspectives of family and belonging?

I start with something generic like "Our sense of belonging is directly impacted by our perception and experiences of family" - given the time constraint I want to have convey a vague idea of what im thinking about as well as thinking of more specific ideas.

I then contrast or show how the the texts are similar in the next paragraph - 1 sentence on text 1 (for e.g.) and then the rest of the paragraph on text 2. They prefer you to contrast a concept - again if you cant think of anything say something generic like text 2 uses a reflective tone convey how personal experiences with family can shape an individual's identity or sense of belonging" n then "for text 1 this is expressed through the form of a autobiography blah blah blah"

Next paragraph "In contrast the author of text 1 depicts the notion that our sense of belonging is blah blah blah blah"

In both paragraphs you should use quotes and techniques everywhere but as long as they support your thesis

Last paragraph: "therefore both texts provide the idea that belonging is based on our experiences of family, regardless of whether this a positive or negative experience. However where as text 1 demonstrates that belonging to be formed through... text 2 stresses the importance of..."

and that was my structure for a 5/5 response

Thanks, this was helpful i always seem to lose 1 or 2 marks for the 5 marker questions. So that would rave on for about 1-1.5 pages?

I don't write very fast or have large handwriting so 1 page for me - generally the introduction and conclusion should only be 1 or 2 sentences max and the others should cover the rest of the page, quality over quantity
