Raw mark range out of 105 translating to a band 5? (1 Viewer)

I think hsc marking standards would be much harder than some people are used to at their schools.
Since teachers had access to average raw marks for hsc exams from last year, the results had everyone pretty freaked out.

Our school average for one of the modules was ~13/20, and the state average was ~9/20.

Even though our school still did really well (~70% got band 6), i think you guys might be underestimating how hard it is to actually get raw marks in the 80s, so definitely don't get complacent

yes but my teacher is a hsc marker, ive given her my essays (although she marks conflicting perspectives), and she has given each a 17/20, including conflicting perspectives. She said the main thing a marker looks for is a sustained essay, not one that fades after 2 paragraphs. And it has to be an absolute thrilling essay to get 18+

So, quick question, even if you go really well in your HSC exams, do bad trial marks effect your HSC mark? or is it just your internal rank that matters?

Internal rank only but I'm willing to bet bad trial marks affected your rank pretty badly lol.
