Would I lose marks? I sometimes jump from steps messily but I show all the important working out. It's sometimes hard to read my train of thought through my working out.

If the marker cant follow your working out in logical steps, they will take marks off you.

Obviously if they can't figure out what you're doing, they can't award you marks.

i did this all throughout the year (school assessments) and sometimes i got lucky when my teacher couldnt be bothered checking my working, and i just copied the answer and fudged it in the last line.

No fudging is NOT recommended, i watched a video from hsccoach which has all HSC markers and i remember one talking about never fudge always show correct working out.
