Best case scenario 74/84, which isn't even 90%, so I'm pretty dissapointed really... Especially how everyone walks out of the exam hall, saying they got 3-4 wrong.

Gosh you guys are all really good at maths
I'm looking at around 65-66 if the markers are extremely nice but realistically, probably 58-60
I only do 3Us of Maths so does anyone know what that 'aligns' to?

Everyone else here doesn't know how lucky they are... If you have a smaller cohort, you can achieve a better rank, and do better overall. You guys should try competing with 71 other Extension 2 students, and 121 other Extension 1 students.

I'm feeling 60s will be cutoff for E4, so your ideal marks will probably be E4. But I don't really know.

Agreed, at my school I'm a 3U student competing with 138 other Extension 1 students which includes around 95 or 96 Extension II students so basically, I'm screwed

Ikr, it's annoying.. however, if you rank well, then you've guaranteed yourself an awesome mark.

But most half the state ranking guys for Ext1 MM and Ext2 MM come from our school, (it's not ruse) and even if your decent in maths, and you get say 75-76/84 for our trials. This puts you at a rank of 40-50/120. Yeah I need less competition.

Definately not. Last year's cut off was 56/84 and this year's test was much more of a pain so I would estimate it would be more like 52/84.
If they give out extra marks, then it could be in the low 60s. but if they have rather standard marking, then the cutoff would be lower, like 52.

This part: I call bullshit.
Ruse had 5 MX1 state ranks out of the 12 and for MX2 they had 5 of the 10 so don't try talking your school up like they're the best.

Actually our school is currently ranked 2nd overall for maths. We do crap because everyone memorises essays for English, and hence our HSC screws up.

I'm pretty sure they don't just chuck out free marks...
no like if you did slightly less than required to get up to the 1 mark section, but you got the right way of thinking. I recall that's what they did in the 2006 paper.
