some people are so fucking ignorant... do you understand how much pain people in the Middle East + Africa go through in their everyday lives?
they're not allowed an education, women are treated cruelly and some have a fear of being persecuted if they leave their house.
yet people in Australia, who live in nice homes, go to good schools & are treated fairly, complain about these innocent people coming here? ARE THEY AFFECTING YOUR LIVES, YOU FUCKWITS?! no they are not, they just want better lives for themselves & their families.
australia has a population of 22 million, tiny compared to other nations, we can afford to let more people in. helping them have a better quality of life.
On a scale of Matt Damon retarded and Timmeh retarded. Where do you rank yourself?

no I'm not ignorant, and I'm not retarded, I've just got a fucking heart.
yes i understand we can't let them all in, and I'm not saying we put them in hotels and send them to private schools, I'm just saying we can let MORE in, and once they are here and have gone through security checks, we should provide them with -a bit of money and put them in government housing.

my dad is an immigration officer who works at Villawood Detention centre, so don't fucking tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about.

You dont know what you are talking about. Your father might, but you do not.
Australia is struggling with is current population. We have no where to put new immigrants, let alone giving them money that should be split to the Australian population.

I have said this many times over the years, don't look at the intentions look at the outcomes.

So thus by arbitarily crossing into our borders you are implying that they have a right to 'money' and 'housing', but to have a right to something means you have to take it from someone else, some other poor sod that had lived here all his life, or from the tax payer in general. Why should they be forced to give money to people they don't know and prehaps didn't want in this country in the first place? Or prehaps you just like stealing other people's hard earned money to fund your immoral ideas

Australia has a small population and it should stay that way. Look at these other countries - third world with over population, that's no coincidence. It's because of this overpopulation that so many of them can't get good education and all that jazz (I admit, there are other factors of course...).

We provide for other countries through foreign aid which, while a good deed, means less spent on our own issues. We take in immigrants and support for them when we don't even worry about issues of people born here.

Limit immigration intake in every aspect IMO.

I've been to America, Italy, Spain and Greece. And no, I have no ambition to go to the holes that are S.E Asia, the Indian Subcontinent or Africa. Wouldn't mind Turkey or Latin America, though.
I'm pretty sure South East Asia includes Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand which are actually pretty nice places to visit.

Fair enough, yes those countries you've been to are very beautiful. But why the hate on S.E Asia, Africa and Indian subcontinent?? reason?
I'm just not interested in seeing countries whose inhabitants are still quite....ummm, savage.

Have you looked into 'skilled migration'? And how it is crucial for our economy?
I agree that it may just be all your 'opinion', but mate, look into facts.

Have you considered he just might be joking?
Actually, both my parents came here in the 70's. They came here legally, and they didn't make a long list of demands, unlike the immigrants of today. They worked their arses off, and today are quite successful. But to be honest, I have no real love for this country.

To be fair I don't think most of the asylum seekers arriving by boat are skilled workers.
