Why would we do a marathon on SC Mathematics when most of us would be worried for Science, History or Geography!

I'm most worried about the non-calculator section to be honest. Rivalryoftroll, I am lucky enough to not be sitting science, history or geography until next year, Oh wait, this is the last year school certificate is taking pace.

Two cars are travelling towards each other at 60km/h and 80km/h.
How far apart are they 15 minutes before they pass each other?

well 15min = 1/4 of hour so:

1/4 of 60 = 15
1/4 of 80 = 20

20 + 15 = 35

therefore 35km

You don't really.. you just know that they're gonna pass eachother in 15mins so you work backwards from that.

15 balls with the numbers 1 to 15 written on them are placed into a box. What is the possibility of pulling out a prime number?

you do realise this is the school certificate, right?
It counts for so much that they are cutting it out next year.

I hope you all realise that the School Certificate is the most pointless part of your schooling and means shit all in the long run... Maybe go outside and get some fresh air before you start your hsc in a year or so?
