Did anyone receive any mail/email regarding this. Also I was wondering, with a 91 atar, do I have a good chance in receiving this scholarship?

Yeah.. I received notification of the scholarship, way backk.. like early december..

I then got official notification last week which included forms that I had to fill out etc.

TBH, I don't think you'll get the scholarship with an ATAR of 91. I attended a talk on their scholarships and if I recall correctly the minimum ATAR for the scholarship was 94/95 in previous years.

You could, have, however applied for the Vice-Chancellor's Leadership Scholarship, but unfortunately if you haven't already.. that opportunity has passed for this year.

But in saying that.. to receive the scholarship you must have placed a UWS course as your first preference by close of change of preferences back in Jan 5th.
So if you didn't do that.. then you had no chance of receiving the scholarship.

Also, just on a side note.. the great thing about the scholarship is, if you didn't know..
is that it is cash-money into your bank account not just a reduction of fees.
so you can virtually spend the money however you'd like. :)

I died a little inside when I saw this. It was the only reason I placed UWS as my first preference :C

I received this scholarship with a UAI of 91.30, but this was back in 2009. Good luck anyway. Why not do teaching at UWS?

Do you have to do like leadership stuff to get that?
Ahh, leadership and community involvement is quite a large aspect of the scholarship..
however, if you didn't happen to do these things, i'm preety sure some people just BS it.

Anyway, do the course that you want - depending on the future career you want, the scholarship shouldn't mean much anyway.. your university fees are all HECs'd anyway, and 5k/yr isn't a big amount once you start your career.

yeah, I'm involved in the community and plan to have a lot of extracurriculars at uni as I had a few at HS, but I hate leadership stuff. Ew.

Yeah… but I need money. :(
It takes me like 30 weeks to make $5k. :(

ahh k, yeah the scholarship is very leadership based, with definite emphasis on a desire to become an ambassador for UWS.

ah that's fair enough.. just try get a casual/part time job?
should earn you a fair amount - assuming you'd get about 15+ hrs/week during uni.

Ew.
I think my friend went for it and he already has the 20k scholarship too.

I have a job.
They only give me like 12 hours a week because younger people cost less an hour. Ugh.
