Need help with graphs! (1 Viewer)

Guys how would you sketch graphs like y=ln(x)/x^2 and y=e^x/x? Having trouble with them. Thanks.

You can either use division of ordinates, which
Is more obvious or multiplication of ordinates.
For ln x/ x^2 draw each of those graphs for the pos
X only as ln x doesn't exist in 2 or 3 quad. You should
be careful when draw them both and note that x^2
Should always be on top of ln x. Another thing you should
Look for is the regions both graphs are neg/ pos or a
Combo, cause when you divide he ordinates you should
immediately be able to see where the new graph will be
Pos or neg. also look for either is 0 as this will either be
0 or vertical asymptote. Also draw in y=1 guide line
As when diving by numbers between 0 and 1 it will become
Bigger or when dividing by numbers greater than one it
Will become smaller. These sought of things are what you
Should do for all division graphs

In a buzz and woody race, woody has a head start.

So he decides to be the function of

Off he goes VZOOM!


Now when Buzz joins they become:



Note: Buzz is about 10 kgs heavier. Now, of course this would weigh down poor Woody,



So the left as approaches minus infinity.

You can see that a small number will result.

So any number for this case x<0, the graph will be pushed back towards the x axis! But will still tend the asymptotes.

Mathematically,



If we substitute a large negative value. We get a larger result than previously. Hence the graph will be pushed back towards the x axis.





Now at x>0, we can see that BUZZ wants to speed up. So he goes for full blast and tries lifting Woody

Of course,

Time time woody is dragged up as you will see, the graph is pushed away from the x axis, and as we go to infinity (to the right more, BUZZ says: TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!)




If we substitute a large negative value. We get a larger result than previously.

We will be pushed away from the x axis, more then more, then BUZZ goes to infinity!!!

If the question permits, finding stationary points help as well.
More often than not, the question permits it. The question is, will time permit it?

But I guess the whole idea of Extension 2 Curve sketching is sketching graphs without calculus (excluding the rotated ellipses etc).
