Hey guys ive read up and apparently its impossible to go well in eng std, like get a atar above 90 lol, or get a band 5-6 in standard itself anyway i thought illl post my rank and marks and see.

Its almost impossible to get a B6 in standard english :/
Only like top 1% get a Band 6 in standard and that's usually like ~50 in the state

Well, it's impossible to say really. You could get a Band 2 or a Band 6. Your school may be setting easy assessments or very hard assessments, only the HSC will be able to moderate your marks so it is comparable to the State.

Just keep up your internal rank. This will maximise your possibilities of achieving 80+ in english.

Your marks are probs a band 5.

But at this time last year I got:

Assessment 1 - 10/15
Assessment 2 - 17/25

And I got 86 in the exam (83 overall) just because the fuckers at my school don't mark consistently.

Like 10% of people get >90 and then like 90% of that would be Advanced.

I got 90+ ATAR and I did Standard English (Scored 89, I was externally 1st in my school for it), what's the fuss about? Someone on this forum got 99+ ATAR and she did Standard English also.

Band 6 is very hard to achieve as shown by the Statistics, but it's not even close to impossible. Anyone can achieve it, you just need to put in loads of effort and it's all about hard work.

To the thread starter, you're probably on Band 5 right now, I wouldn't be too sure about 6, but it would solely depend on your External performance (Meaning you ace paper 1 and 2).

It's not impossible to get Band 6 in Standard. around 60 students get Band 6 in English Standard so how is that "impossible to get"? You just have to work hard!

Also, 90+ ATAR is definitely achievable in English Standard!!! I got 99.80 ATAR and I did English Standard! It all depends on your overall performance!

I was getting around 16/20 for English Standard throughout the year and I ended up with a state rank in English, however, my school marks hard. At this moment, it is not possible to say what mark you will end up with.. perhaps take a look at your school's history and what students with similar marks as you in the past would have gotten...
