Bottom of MX2 is normally ~80 by the way.
Your ranks in the sciences are very strong and that will probably pull you up a lot, plus the 92 in MX1 will also have some pull. When I say 99, I mean it as being right on 99.

Yeah, I know. It's hard to estimate when marks are near the top/bottom...lol.

I think it's more likely that I'm currently looking towards ~97-98 though.

Adv Eng - probably looking at high b5 - 88ish
MX1 - 92
MX2 - 85
Phys - 95
Chem - 93+

with those marks, definitely heading towards a mid 98

Yeah, that's good enough. Man, I chucked your marks in the ATAR calculator for the fun of it and it came out with 99.30...LOL

yeah i know right.. f-life. I got jipped out of a precious 99.. lols.

oh well, but yeah, everyone from my school got over estimated like .4 or so higher by the atar calcs, so just be weary of that.

I'm estimating a high 98.

You are close to your goal, and pulling you Eng or MX2 rank up a bit would likely get you your goal.

I think it's going to be more closer to 98.3-ish. Going by my cohort and Class of 2010, I think you'll get around that.

Yeah...98.3 is good enough (still want 99+) - I only need 95 for my preferred course but I might go for MBBS which would be a struggle.

Well, I only estimated a mark to go with your rank, again going by the last two years. I estimated:
English: 86 (probably around this as for 2011, 50-ish got 87)
MX1: 92 (although could be from 90 to 93)
MX2: 82 (probably a bit too low, although your rank isn't helping my estimate go any higher)
Phys: 94
Chem: 89 (you're 5th, so that's borderline 90, I can't see it any higher than 91 going by patterns over the last few years)

So really, you can get into 99+ ATAR if you and your class does well in MX2, but you do need to work on your rank, and go up a couple of ranks in Chem. With English, it's either your grade does well or bombs out (like my year). So yeah, use this as a guide because I reckon it's fairly accurate for your ranks, of course, knowing from experience.

Yeah, my rank in MX2 can only go up currently pretty much and I'm quite sure it will. Chemistry might be tied 4th but this assessment was only 15% - anything can happen.

By the way, maximum HSC mark for MX1 is 92 (90-91.8) so 91 is a better estimate.

I fixed up some of my ranks but the estimate would still be the same. Hopefully it changes at the half-yearly.
