How to make a commutator ??
Commutators are split ring, I'm quite sure there's no "slip ring commutator". A commutator is made by cutting some sort of ring into segments and connecting each segment pair to a coil - one coil per segment pair.split or slip ?
Slip ring commutators are used in AC generators to maintain a constant connection between the rotating coil and the external circuit.Commutators are split ring, I'm quite sure there's no "slip ring commutator". I thought they were just called 'slip rings'Slip ring commutators are used in AC generators to maintain a constant connection between the rotating coil and the external circuit.
I should of mentioned that bit too but yeah, that's what I was thinking of...I thought they were just called 'slip rings'
Exactly how are you constructing your motor? Are you following an online guide?Hmm can i use a can plastic as a commutator? or I need to buy a copper ring?
