oh snapI hardly think somebody ranked 15/68 in 2U Maths should be making such comments.
Are you sure it includes Ext 2 people since they don't do 2u classes anymore in year 12 if they are Ext 2?2u
And no. I am not bitching. I am actually curious on why it is relatively low compared to others.
Also my rank includes ext 2 people
For many people, it takes quite a bit of work to get 94/120 in a 2 unit exam. Maths is the kind of subject where once you understand it, its very easy to do well. I know this seems like a no-brainer, but with many subjects (i.e. modern, law at uni) you can understand the work but it is still quite difficult to do well. However, understanding the content in maths takes quite a fair bit more work than either modern or law. Hence the reason why the raw mark is low, because many arent willing to put in the work. Thats my view anyway.AS history has shown a raw mark in maths of ~90/120 will getyou a band 6
I really don't get how it can be so low I mean 75% in maths is not overly hard to obtain
What gives.
What is your current rank for maths & what is your school rank?i got 90% in my 2u half yearly and 89% in my 1st assessment...currently im on 35.9/40...is it possible to get 95+ HSC Mark from here??
wait what? Most subjects have around the same cutoff, according to the raw marks database posted somewhere on these forums, the approximate cutoffs are:
English (Advanced) 77/100
Chemistry 72/100
Physics 76/100
Mathematics 94/120 = 78/100
Mathematics Extension 1 57/84 = 69/100
Mathematics Extension 2 76/120 = 64/100
Biology 79/100
As far as I can see, there's nothing out of the ordinary there.
Well every year it changes based on the cohort and difficulty, but yes, in the case of externals that is.wait what?
Are they the raw marks for band 6's?
um i'm pretty sure thats how much ext2 scales, not just 2u lolAS history has shown a raw mark in maths of ~90/120 will getyou a band 6
I really don't get how it can be so low I mean 75% in maths is not overly hard to obtain
What gives.
Yep, BUT. It's important to remember that they're only an estimate. However, they're estimated from the raw marks of numerous people over the past 5 or so years, so they're reasonably accurate.wait what?
Are they the raw marks for band 6's?
My maths department is gay and dont give us progressive ranks...but last year i got similar marks and came 31st/230...school rank 60ishWhat is your current rank for maths & what is your school rank?
raw mark approx 64/100don't worry too much about raw marks and scaling and all that stuff.
jUST TRY YOUR BEST, AND YOU WILL ACHIEVE.
If you worry too much about scaled mark and all that, you will get too caught up in it and will not put in your best effort because (" i only need a 70 to get me band 6")
BUT, IN SAYING THAT...... whats the average mark a MX2 student needs for an E4 ( yes, abit hypocritical, but i just wanna know)
