Band 6 in physics (1 Viewer)

My school is renowned for being atrocious at physics. Last year, for example, only a handful got band 6s, and the person who came 2nd came out with 89.5 => Just rounded to a band 6.

Is it really that hard to get a low band 6 - 90-93? I'm doing alright now, first asst rank was top 10 but lots of ties...half yearly 3rd. I'll pretty much have to top it to determine a good exam/asst mark?

I go to a tutoring college for physics as well - definitely helping!

Any tips?

A lot of people get 90-93 but it can get immensely difficult to get above that.

My marks have skyrocketed since I started getting tutoring. The teacher I have at Matrix is sooooo good. I love their notes and the campus is so pretty

My school isn't too good at physics either. We only got 2 band 6s as well last year. I wouldn't mind getting a high band 5 though. Physics is quite a difficult subject to perfect.

too high

72 raw aligned to 85 last year...... so ~77 would align to 90.

That's why i had the "~".

In 2009, 76 raw aligned to 87 exam mark.

Doesn't matter anyway lol.. They're both pretty close..

Farr, my schools been on a band 5 drought for the past 3 years, highest mark 89 three years in a row, that being said my schools only done the hsc 3 times and is a rank ~400 school

Meh, if you understand the content you don't need the tutoring or constant study, I only really study for max 3 days before the test and currently rank 3, 85 average, and hoping for that in hsc.

Actually, not many people get Band 6 in Physics; looking back at 2011, it appears most people are in the Band 4 to 5 region, with more people concentrated in Band 4.
