Face it, it happens. Only someone as stupid as lolsmith would go out and try to deny that it happens.

If you had to have a life saving operation would you rather a UNSW medicine grad or a UWS grad? If you knew absolutely nothing else , the answer would be obvious.

USYD and UNSW are like the David Jones and Myer of Australian Universities. UWS is like the Franklins of Australian Universities. A student may be taught the exact same things at all universities (This is usually the same for all uni around the world. E.g. First year physics is basically the exact same topics no matter where you study around the world ) and pay the exact same fees, but because UWS has a lower cut off people think that they have lower exam standards as well.

While it is not always the case that a lower cut off uni has easier exams, sometimes it is true. For example, if you see a final exam for first year physics from UNSW if is much harder than a final exam from UWS. UWS gets a bunch of questions that can be worked out in two lines of working, UNSW questions are a lot more involved.

Lolsmith probably goes to UWS or UTS and he is just running from the truth like all of the other people that didn't work hard enough in high school to go to a good university.

EDIT: "MichelleV" just gave this post negative reputation. ohhh... have a cry butthurt UWS student.
You do realise that UWS med grads have a lot more clinical experience than a UNSW med grad has straight out of uni right? So yeah, come back when you know what you are talking about. Not to say that UWS med grads are superior to UNSW med grads, but it depends purely on the individual and when you graduate in medicine no one gives two shits whether you're from UNSW or UWS.

I would think you are a troll because you are so stupid but its kinda pathetic that you would post a mini essay on how you think certain unis are worse than others.

You do realise your entire post is void because it is centred on this one stupid and baseless assumption right?

I've got another question, UWS offers two engineering courses, one being the standard degree requiring a low atar and the other advanced course having an atar similar to those offered at other Uni's, is this UWS trying to counteract the bias against them or is it that the standard courses their are not up to par with the courses offered by "higher" universities.

you do realise no one will know, nor care where you graduated from, because guess w0t, your uni doesn't matter. You're all regged under AMC, and you eventually all get specialist training.

You do realise you have mentioned this to me repeatedly Dr Khorne, although that wasn't what I was getting at originally.

I know lol, I was being silly. I agree with you completely.

From my experience it's usually people who still haven't gotten to uni or the real world who make those kinds of bold claims.

Or maybe they want to challenge better students with a degree that offers them a more difficult and challenging range of subjects?

Like, I could have just done a B Sc. But I chose B Sc (Adv. Maths) because it'll challenge me because I'm forced to take all maths subjects at a Higher level. To compensate, I get automatic Honours. yay

also talking about uni'sit depends on what course etc aswell.

for UWS computing the labs are from a textbook which has solutions for it online, and everyone just copies that and gets full marks. While UNSW labs are different each year, different lecturer and closed at the end of semester and you onlu get exactly 6 days day to do them (takes about 4-5 hours)

Yeah it does depend. I wouldn't go to my current uni for anything but what i'm doing now, and I don't regret it. We have a huge hospital being built next to us (7000 jobsss what up) that will service entire region, we have a brand new (still being built) med centre to replace the current new med centre (8 years old ah) and yeah. Just some pimpin facilities. If only the stupid med students in the years above could properly dissect shit

Speaking as a current university student, I can tell you that as a whole, the university you go to should depend on the course. If you want to be something like a lawyer, go for USYD or UNSW. BUT if you want to be, for instance, a journalist, you should go to UTS or Charles Sturt. If you've got the skills and the talent, employees seriously don't care what university you go to.

In first year ASB, mid-sems are in-tutorial, 40minute quizzes whereas almost all other business schools in the Sydney area have 2 hour long exams. Definitely depends on what course it is.

You can still get jobs at UWS , it's just UNSW/USYD/MAQUNI/UTS will look more competitive in comparison to say UWS , ACU , Notre Dame etc :(

Like others have said, it depends on your degree

My maths teacher got put into Baulkham Hills as her first teaching job straight out of university because she was a ridiculous overachiever. She was an ACU grad.
