So I kind of managed to screw up my first three assessment tasks. All of them. Even managed to fail my math extension exam. I go to a school ranked in the top 8. All my marks are around the low 70s, with the exception of mid 90s in music (very easily marked).

I know it's easier said than done, but if I completely blitz trials and externals, do I have any kind of chance at maybe a 95, or even 90?

Ranks:

Math 2U - 54/66
Maths Ext 1 - 131/146
Eng Adv - 153/168
Eng Ext 1 - 65/73
Economics - 37/40
Music 2 - 4/6
Music Ext - 3/5

If you're having a bad day, just remember this post and feel better. :)

Sorry, didnt notice that. Its hard to say with this one, a top 8 school usually has an average ATAR around 95-96ish iirc but these schools always have outliers who get a lot less then the average (i.e. 70's and even 60's). At a rough guess, I'd say 83-87, but it could be less.

86 at the moment. You could push 90 or slightly above, depending on trials and externals.

Thanks everybody who posted. So I guess I'm looking at slightly above 90 if I do the work, and currently mid eighties... well I hoped for a little better but it's deserved and I can't say I'm surprised.

Actually, question - what marks am I needing for an ATAR over 90 in trials and externals, do you think?

You have only done 30 percent of the HSC so far, I think you still have a chance in getting 95+ if you get 100% in all you're exams from now on considering ur school is top 8.
