Qantas is very well known for its reward system for its employees (Non Financial and Financial), this could be one strategy how they control Human resource management effectively. Financial such as wage increases and salaries, extra pay based on performance and cash bonuses for outstanding results. For example in 2003-2004, higher profits for Qantas led to $1000 cash bonus for every Qantas employee.

Non financial rewards- More flexible working hours, more job autonomy, award recognition and etc.

Strategies they also implement are:

-More emphasis on stronger Communication systems which resulted mainly from last year's events. Some included flatter management structures- meaning there is fewer layers of middle management and widening span of control allowing flexibility and adaptability for its employees. Also more emphasis on the process to resolve work conflicts in employment contracts and etc.

-More emphasis on Training and Development used to improve productivity, quality of outputs and Qantas specifically uses online or electronic learning to train staff offering a database, email system, discussion system and much more.

-Emphasis on much more flexible working conditions, increased paid maternity leave from 6-10 weeks, up to 10 days career's leave per year and building of Family-Friendly services such as child care facilities in large Australian hubs such as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Hope these help :)
