2 function values for 1 strip, since 1 function value is just a line. We need 2 lines for a strip.

For both of them, the H is just the length of the strip or the distance between intervals.

I remember it as 2 for Trapezoidal Rule because the area of trapezium formula has a 2 in it.

So therefore Simpson's must have 4.

But I referring to the 2 and 4 multipliers which occur in the middle of the Simpsons function: 2 for evens, 4 for odds?

Ohh right, I got confused because there are 2 versions of Simpson's Rule.

Anyway, I remember it as FOTE.

I use H/3{f(a)+f(b)+4(EVENS)+2(ODDS)}

Sorta of the opposite to what you use carrot sticks...

That's because I use a y_0, but some people don't have a y_0, but have y_1 instead.

So everything gets 'shifted' up by 1 and therefore odds turn to evens and visa versa.
