If you're using 2 related texts, does the structure need to be like this:

Argument 1:
Prescribed
Related 1

Argument 2:
Prescribed
Related 2

OR:

Argument 1:
Prescribed
Related 1
Related 2

Argument 2:
Prescribed
Related 1
Related 2

Does it need to be an even 33/33/33 or 50/25/25?

Usually the first. You're not prevented from using the latter format but really in the allocated time you have, your analysis of each text will be poor and shallow since you don't have enough time to analyse 3 texts twice in depth.

I only want to use one related text so I'm hoping for a 50/50 split, but if necessary, I'll use the format you recommended (50/25/25) since that'd be easier to go in depth.
