I know there is heaps of thread on this, but in your opinion which option should I choose?

Either a) Have neat writing, less words and less analysis within an essay or b) have messy writing that isn't necessarily unlegible but takes a while to decipher, more words and therefore, more analysis?

My writing can be neat, but under the time constraint, it goes really ugly, and I'm wondering if it is in the long run, jeopardising my mark.
