If you're interested in finance why're you considering majoring in eco? Why not financial economics?

And be more specific as to what you want to do.

This is for a bachelor of economics.

Would a double major in financial economics and finance a good idea?

Or would a double major in (accounting and financial economics) be better?

Also, if I do a doble major in financial economics and finance would that be easier because they complement each other "so" much?

You'll be restricted in what post-grad courses you can do with financial economics because it's not pure. If you really want economics with a finance slant, just do a double major in BEcon, economics and finance. As for employment, it depends what job you want. The simple fact you have a degree will make you employable, especially if you're not an unemployable twat who knows the value of hard work. The question is whether you'll get a job you actually want. That of course depends on what you want.

Cant do a double degree in commerce due to my "shit" atar. I actually want to do finance much more than economics.

I said double major, not a double degree. Most unis will let BEcon students do two majors, just as long as one is economics or equivalent.

Some unis won't let you do postgrad work in economics, and especially not in finance, with a financial economics undergrad major. Hence you're better off doing finance and economics, rather than trying to take a short cut, if you want postgrad work.

okay, i learnt nothing from that.

if you're wondering why you haven't received any helpful responses it's because you've failed to:
a) ask specific, proper questions
b) not given any details about where you ACTUALLY are interested

This leads to the assumption that you have no idea what you're talking about and should read more about the courses/figure out what you want to do before posting a thread.

Please name a 'good job' in finance. If you can't, sorry buddy profession not meant for you. It just sounds like some generic crap and all that you're after is money.

It's a bit of overkill and there will be overlapping subjects for the two. You'd get much the same education plus more doing economics. If your focus and interest is finance then doing postgrad work (Honors/Masters) will provide more value to you than doing extra finance undergrad courses.

I agree. Finance is a very broad field and without any specifics, it would be extremely difficult to provide an answer.
