There is no X amount of hours you do to attain a Y ATAR. Study the number of hours you need to understand and get on top of the work and you should be fine. Consistency is the key in the HSC.

So basically the best thing to do is to memorise/understand the work you did in school each afternoon?

You need to consistently work hard to maintain the ranks. Though, it is hard to define " how much " every day, as it is various from person to person , maybe 3?

yeah, I understand that, but I don't know if what I'm doing right now is enough... I've been just doing summaries every day of what I've learned in school on that day, but I haven't been memorising anything, do you know what I mean?

Frequently go over your work and notes as often as you can to understand it. Through doing this on a regular basis, I can guarantee that you will be ready and not stressed for upcoming assessments/exams.

6-7 hours per week day, 10-14 hours on sat and sunday. Sleep is not an option, therefore failure is not an option.

Haha mate, not that I'm going to get my goal, but that's is excessive as hell. If I come close, I did an absoulte fraction of that! I mean I went away for 5 weeks of yr 12!

Usually including homework and come on, 6-7 hours is honestly excessive.

Oh ok, thank God! 6-7 hours sounded crazy! I was ready to go sit in the corner for the next year and then work at McDonald's for the rest of my life :p

It all depends on the person and I know its been said 100's of times but its true. Some people could get 98+ with half an hour a day, others will never hit that. It all depends on what YOU need to stay on top of everything and understand it all. Good luck

There isn't a set amount of time you should be doing each day - for me it entirely depends on how much homework and assignments I have to work on, how difficult the content is, time till exams etc.

If I were to even out the amount of study I do each week, it would be around 45-60 mins a day. But truth is I don't study every day - I have rest days - and most of my study is done in blocks of 2 hours. My average weekly study time (excluding assignments and homework) is approximately 5-10 hours, give or take.

This study technique works very well for me; it may not be set in stone, and a bit all over the place, but overall it's consistent.

not memorising is fine as long as you understand the content
