Hey
This might be a silly question but basically with engineering you can do Mechanical, electrical or whatever as a degree.
Are there specific majors within these fields or is that your major.
So I wanted to do mechanical engineering am i majoring in mechanical or is there specific majors in mechanical engineering.

Specific majors within them, usually you "specialise" in something. I have no clue what kind of stuff there is for Mechanical though. In certain fields it makes a big difference with the subjects you do but in others it's just a few subjects. Just go onto a uni's website and look at the course plan.

Different universities have their own variations, but generally, mechanical is the major. You may want to specify a university.

Hi, the Bachelor of Engineering at UWS allows you to select from eight majors. There is however no major within the major itself. The majors you can select from include civil, computer, construction, electrical, environmental, mechanical, robotics and mechatronics and telecommunications. For further information, please contact the Course Information Team on 1300 897 669 or on study@uws.edu.au. Best regards, UWS Course Info.
