I have my first HSC MX1 Exam in a couple of days worth 15% (marked out of 50). Let's say if I was to ever get 60-70(ish) %, would that severely impact my internal HSC mark?

No, marks are important as well. Coming 5th by 2% puts you in a better position than coming 5th by 20%. How is it that the 100th ranked James Ruse student is still able to get 95 HSC mark when ranking is apparently so important? And when the 1st ranked student in a 300th ranked school can't get 95 HSC mark?
