A BIG ATAR Shock (1 Viewer)

Hey guys. Woke to get my ATAR this morning ad got a rather big shock... I got 79.80. I had always envisaged that I would get an 80+ I'm not sure how I could of got 80- when i had these marks:

Business 81 / 5
English 82 / 5
Geo 80 / 5
Legal 81 / 5
Modern 85 / 5
History Ext 39 / E3
SOR 40 / 5

For my school ranks I was in the top 10 of every course. For Extension I was Rank 1.

I know with those marks business, legal and geo wqould have scaled down.

They go by Raw mark not HSC mark

I would of thought my subjects were fine. I'm told that history ext scales well even with an E3.

Remember the ATAR is a rank not an average of your marks. A 79.80 ATAR means that you are in the top 20.2% of the state which is a reasonable achievement...

Wrong. Top 35.2% of the state.

ATAR of 90 this year is top 17%

No it means you are in the top 35%~
