Is it really worth doing HSC past papers that date back to 2000, 1999, 1998 and so on?
This is more specifically for Maths as the syllabus and exam structure has obviously changed since then.

The 2001 HSC MX2 exam is fine in my opinion as it looks similar to questions given today.

Yes, if you are aiming for a 96+ HSC mark otherwise from 2001 onwards with a few school trials is more than enough..

I would do it. Questions are still questions, and they will still challenge you, as old as they may be.

I think Harder 3U and Graphs were added in 1989? The 1981 paper looks quite straightforward though, which is expected because it was the first year that the new 4U course was examined (they added in conics and circular motion and took out matrices mainly).

Yes. A lot of the 90's papers have some very solid ideas behind them. The course has changed very minimally (tbh I didn't even know there was a difference when I did the papers- I thought the last changes to the course were in 1981 lol)

Yes. I did as far back as possible and was lucky enough to find an almost identical question in my HSC to a 1986 question (with a few other numbers changed) which I would have had nfi how do to if it weren't for that.

Yeah some of the older questions are good - because they have 'challenges' that you won't see in the more recent papers. And those challenging questions are a really good tool for learning and they also might be used in your actual exam since they haven't been used in a while.

Which question was that?
