The difference between O-week and open/info days is their context. While open/info days are for finding out information about the uni so you may choose whether you want to make it a preference, O-week is very much a sort of "welcome to the university".For all new students at UNSW.
What happens at O-week? How is it different from open/info days?
Any other questions please feel free to post below.
Kind regards.
Sounds good, can't wait! The difference between O-week and open/info days is their context. While open/info days are for finding out information about the uni so you may choose whether you want to make it a preference, O-week is very much a sort of "welcome to the university".
Most of the student societies and clubs set up stalls during O-week and give out information on what they do and how to join them. There are tours and people to ask for help if you need to find somewhere. There are games and activities and events (ranging from giant Jenga, live comedy, revues, music, and more). The focus of O-week is very much to have fun, which is completely different to the point of open/info days (basically to try and win you over).
It is well worth coming to O-week, at least for 3-4 days. It's great fun and will make you feel like part of a large community of students, all here to have fun (and study, of course).
Oh and as OMGITzJustin said, there's plenty of free food.
O-Week is orientation week, it's for you to transition into uni. Lots of stalls to join societies, campus tours, activities...For all new students at UNSW.
