One particularly interesting coin to look out for in pocket change is a 1966 20 cent variation known as the "Wavy 20". The Wavy 20 has a small bump at the base of the 2, in comparison to the standard design which is straight as seen in the following pictures (the wavy 20 is on the left):

If you do manage to find one of these, they are worth around $300 - $2,000 depending on the condition.

I don't have any nor 5c

I have one commemorative $2
(I spent the others because they were the same and I had no money )

I also spent $2.50 of my coins the other day for a jus ticket because I couldn't find my wallet.

it was real i was astounded because I'd never seen one before and confused because I didn't know if the register people would accept it as money because it wasn't proper and mum asked me to buy her a maccas coffee with it and i remember thinking at the time that i wanted to keep it instead and how amazed i was by this $2 coin but I was ~7 and even though I was all I WANT TO KEEP THIS mum just didn't get it and wanted that coffee

It was almost certainly a fake. With modern minting practices, it is impossible to get a double sided coin, unless there was some kind of mass consipiracy amongst multiple mint workers to create one (which is unlikely considering all the security and stuff).

Are you going to become a roll hunter - like those guys that buy hundreds of dollars of coins from banks to sort through (not that there is anything wrong with this).

No commemorative 10c pieces have been produced. Although, the 1972 5c and 10c pieces are worth around $20 - $30.

I have some foreign coin that I have nfi where it is from, it is entirely possible it is not actual currency.

Also this thread makes me not want to spend any coins

Haha, last night i was thinking people probably do that. Seems like it'd be hard to find anything valuable that way as the coins have probably been bought and sold back by roll hunters before you. Or maybe (likely) i just underestimate the legitimate supply + demand for coins from banks and that's not the case.

Found one! Unfortunately they seem to be fairly worthless on ebay =(
