I really need help in writing an essay for strictly ballroom and how to analyse scenes and what scenes to analyse.

The question is how does Baz Luhrmann encourage us to be critical of the dancing world of the Dance Federation and President Barry Fife?

Does anyone have some past essays they have written, quotes or scenes? Anything would help!

Thank you.

Luhrmann encourages or challenges us to be critical of this world through his portrayal of the world and Barry Fife.
- Compare the Dance Fed world to the Spanish community (Fran's world)
-Her world is primarily filmed outdoors (freedom, individuality) whereas the dance fed world is filmed mostly indoors (restriction, conformity, isolation)
- Her world is accepting and welcoming of outsiders (welcoming of Scott, shown in Pase Doble scene) dance fed world rejects those different from themselves (treatment of fran, scott and also doug)
-looks can be deceiving; dance fed is a world of 'glamour' and 'colour'; this is just a facade hiding a world of fear and rigid conformity. Fran's world isn't so pretty, but is much more beneficial for the individual
-camera angles of Barry Fife show him in an overbearing manner (camera looking up at him, makes viewer feel small)
- his trophy table topples at the end; his so-called powerful regime is weak, unsteady and unbalanced; ready to collapse at any time; his loyalty is through fear ot genuine respect or friendship
