Maybe white people like his music because it actually appeals them, since it's actually not stereotypical 'black' music.
I think Kanye is a superb artist.
Birdy made me hate covers, poor Bon Iver, her version is more popular than the original (which is way better)

Dark Twisted Fantasy is widely considered to be Kanye's best work, and that was from 2010. Hardly his older stuff.

Yes Kanye does rap about that stuff sometimes, but majority of his music is conceptual, and actually interesting
