1.Does anyone have an easy way to memorise the theory of dividing a polynomial?

Example: Divide 2x^2+6x+13 by 2x+2

I've learnt it in Year 10, but wasn't really paying attention so I need to re-learn it.

2. Do we have to learn this for 2 Unit maths (Not general)?

No, you do learn this in 2u.

Re-do long division of numbers and it should become clearer.

No, you DON'T learn this in 2 unit. Polynomial Division is introduced in Extension 1.

true but most 2u students at my school know about long division anyway, considering that many schools/tutors teach it in year 10.

Certainly technically it is part of the Ex1 course but it is just a follow on from long division people learnt in primary school, so it isn't that much of a big deal.

I remember nothing from primary school, its too long ago.....

2U or 3U we must help young Edward with Polynomial division

With polynomial division, we have come up with a algorithm to divide two polynomials (usually with the same or lower degree). I shall attempt to teach you this step by step procedure now. But first here are some terms you must know.
