Biomedical or Mechatronic? (1 Viewer)

Hey guys, I am doing a double degree of Engineering/Commerce at either UNSW or USyd next year (Did my HSC last year and the got the required ATAR for both Unis). I am majoring in Finance for Commerce, but as for the Engineering, I am confused as to whether to do Mechatronic engineering with Biomed electives or Biomed Engineering with Mechatronic electives. Which option do you guys believe is better in terms of career prospects etc. and why? Thanks

Well, mechatronics/electrical/software engineering are the best in terms of career prospects, while I've heard biomedical is one of the worse options in that respect.

Also, if you're looking for career prospects, why not major in management for your commerce degree? It would mesh well with your engineering degree.

i think you mean "mechanical" is good, mechatronic isn't very good atm, afaik

You can do one or the other, but the option to get Mechanical(biomedical) [basically what you want, and what I was signed up for in sem 1 last year] is no longer available with combined degrees
If you do biomed on it's own you can major in chem, mech, elec, etc. engineering streams.
