Should you utilise quotes in an essay that have no techniques but instead strong textual evidence that support your view/thesis? I heard this was a no no

Don't do it. I did this at the beginning of Year 11, I sucked at English

I actually re-read some of the stuff I wrote back then... so bad

my amount of effort to performance ratio is pretty good. don't do sht in english, nek minut come 2nd.

No one can break KF/AM stranglehold on English
I did. One of them at least. Trials are more reflective of HSC than some lousy assessments, ie the fck is with a listening assessment and making a freaking posters/book pages.
Most selective schools do essays for all the assessment, which is way more intuitive.
