Seriously this is one of my HSC nightmares. Calculator goes flat battery in the middle of the maths exam.

Would you be able to appeal that or is that your fault for not maintaining equipment?

This happened to me once. I handled it by ripping my clothes off and screaming. It worked and I got 100%.

True story.

You could always borrow another one from maths staffroom or library (if you can?)

I feel like a bleeding nose is long overdue to happen to me

Bring a spare calculator... sometimes a little technical tap (BANG) can fix up a calculator :D

Put in fresh batteries the morning of the exam in two calculators and keep one as a back up just in case....

If you're THAT worried just buy another one or borrow another one from someone.

Just use Newtons method to approximate anything you need. That's what I did and I got a state rank.

You can just use Taylor series approximations for sin cos tan e^x etc. It's very intuitive.

1: Bring a spare calculator
2: Hit it on the palm of your hand multiple times
3: Hit it on the table multiple times

1. See if you can get a spare
2. Write on your exam paper: 'soz my calculator broke'
3. Then from then on, you take

And you're set

Use hand/old traditional methods. Or you could bring a potato.

We first bury your calculator. Then we bury you. Then your uncompleted HSC paper. RIP mate
