I'd say C because it seems like the most logical answer

B is wrong caz HR arent always enforced
D would be nice but isn't
A nation states means countries and a country can't have HR, only ppl can lol

Legal studies m/c questions are so stupid. Some are usually prelim and the others are just stupid - I don't even bother practicing then

yeah but think about it

C says that they are granted, when human rights are inherent, from an unchanging body of moral principles - natural law, so IDK

pretty ambiguous question lol

Could be A - because it says applied to nation-states

obv that means the people embodied within

just like a treaty is ratified into nations and reflected within domestic law, that applies to the people within too

I'd say C.
B is ruled out because of the operation of state sovereignty. The Security Council only seems to sanction severe human rights abuses.
D is ruled out because human rights themselves are not legally binding until enacted into legislation. Therefore, human rights don't GIVE legal protection but should be given legal protection.
A is the second most likely in my opinion, although C is more specific as it refers to the "citizens" of nation-states rather than just nation-states.

D does seem to be the most correct answer. A is a weird statement as they apply to people, not an actual 'nation state'. B is not completely correct as HR are enforced through other mechanisms. C is not true as there are still widespread abuses of HR. D makes sense because the main idea is that HR will be able to give some form of protection. While it doesn't ALWAYS result in legal protection, the main aim of HR is that it SHOULD give some form of protection.

But yeah, the question had me thinking for awhile..
