Hi guys

would anyone know if and how to use permutations to work out number of isomers of haloalkanes, doing it one by one seems too much of a time waster for a multiple choice

thanks in advance

I would personally refrain from using permutations or any branch of combinatorial mathematics. The HSC questions are designed so the cases are such that you can COUNT them. By doing permutations, it becomes an extreme Q and a huge waste of time.

Hope this helps
