Re: Geography

Pretty easy exam! Definitely got one multiple choice wrong... Worked out the correct answer on the calculator but it was too late!

lol only 3 ppl did it in the hall... so quiet today...

anyways good exam, nailed most of it except the last extended which i always screw up due to time management failure. i was a bit upset because so much of the exam was source-based...

I have the MC questions, stimulus and extended response questions. if anyone wants to ask me anything, just shout out, but i dont have a scanner so consider that.

My MC answers were:
1. C
2. B
3. D
4. D
5. A
6. C
7. C
8. A
9. D
10. B
11. B
12. A
13. B
14. C
15. D
16. C
17. D
18. C
19. C
20. B

I was unsure for a few of them, so feel free to point out questions that I got wrong :D i was particularly unsure about Q20.
Also short answer question breakdown was:
21
(a)1 mark local relief
(b)2 marks gradient
(c) 2 marks vertical exagg
22
(a) 6 marks ecosystems management and protection (source-based)
(b) 6 marks biophysical interactions (source-based)
23
(a)4 marks regional centres/small towns
(b) 4 marks megacities growth (source-based)
(c) 4 marks megacities response to challenges (source-based)
24
(a) 2 marks spatial patterns econ. activity
(b) 3 marks impact of econ. activity
(c) 6 marks factors affecting future directions

5. I had B. High pressure cell movement is anti-clockwise. So following the direction of the cell, it was west.
20. I had D. Largest scale is the greatest distance with which 1cm is equal to?

Dame, i made a silly on 17, didn't read 'combined' so I subtracted them.

Are you sure 5 is B? The wind is blowing westwards from the arrow, but it is called an Easterly

Overall I think it was a nice paper, certainly easier than I was expecting.

I am pretty sure I got 17/20 for multiple choice. Not too bad but could have got better. I had a 50/50 chance of getting the cadastral/choropleth one and I chose cadastral... bloody hell.

The short answer was better than I thought it would be and I managed to predict the last essay on the enterprise perfectly :)

A few questions:

Was the local relief 150m?

Was the gradient 1:30?

Was the vertical exaggeration 33.3?

Pretty sure I got them right but want to double check. Forgot what local relief was at first.

Hoping for a 80-85/100. My essays I felt included lots of good content but the wording was often poorly done and I wrote the worst intros and conclusions :(

Pretty sure it's B
yay :) full marks for MC I think! i always get carried by MC hehe
why is 20 B though. I just considered it from a mathematical perspective. If you calculate the fractions, B is the largest fraction :)
