Hey guys,

So I received an ATAR of 89.05 and am quite disappointed

Commerce at UNSW is the definite goal however the cutoff last year was 96.3

Even with HSC plus (Which I could get 5 pts), it's still 91.3, but I applied for EAS as well

Question is, if I'm eligible for EAS + HSC plus, will I still be able to do Commerce at UNSW or no?

Heard that a lot of people do get accepted into Commerce but still worried

Freaking out right now but figures are crossed :frown2:

Thanks!

I went to a low-economic school in SWS and I know a person who had 89 and made it into B.Commerce.

I don't know personally what he applied for in EAS, but he certainly got a Band 6 in 2U and Business Studies.

Possibly because it's 2 bonus points extra with EAS. It's hard to say because commerce is definitely a popular choice.

I had a friend who got in with an ATAR of about 90.50 when the cutoff was 96.70 so I think you have a good chance. You can def use both EAS and HSC Plus. The exact amount I am not too sure.

I wish you all the best and hopefully will be seeing you around at ASB next year!

UNSW don't offer bonus points for business studies for B Comm as stupid as it sounds (at least from when i last checked)

Assuming there is little change in the cut-off, you will require around 8 bonus points (whether it be from AAA, HSC Plus, EAS, EAP etc.). Some bonus points do stack up, from what I've seen.

If you are intent on going to UNSW, then put BCom first, but also put a back up (something of interest or similar to BCom) that seems likely you'll get in and then consider a transfer.
