Srsly our species strong self-image and belief that we are special- eg. Christians think we are the closest thing to god/made in his image- is part of the human condition and most healthy people will secretly believe they are a genius/special/unique even if they bury that real deep because communism.

Genius is not just high iq, genius can be tremendous ability in solely one area that doesn't even have to be academic, it can be extraordinary creativity for example or the ability to master a certain skill to an unprecedented extent
