You'd be surprised man! I've seen rolex's go for a couple hundred dollars! Nice ones too. you just need to be bothered to raid the internet.
Couple of hundred dollars, hah! Even a good replica costs more than that.

Tudors are still like 5k, which is still pretty pricey. Especially to the average teenager who considers a watch solely as a fashion accesory and might buy some average watch for a few hundred dollars from a surf or fashion brand with a "Swiss" quartz movement.

Very good point! As long as it gets the job done! If youre a person who just simply needs a wristwatch a Tudor or a Rolex is far from your logical options. I consider brands like that for people who purely love the hobby of collecting.

That being said, a watch is something you can "blow" your money on as they are timeless accessories. Whether you're 15 or 95, it will still serve its purpose (with due maintenance) regardless of how you age.

Yeah, i'd like to be able to get a mechanical watch I can keep for life or at least not as a throw away eventually - even if I end up getting a more expensive or better watch when i'm older.

I was looking at shanghai military reissues recently, timeless design (50 years old already), different and affordable. Unfortunately the company seemed to jack up the price to $400 from closer to 200 shortly after they started the reissues. I also remember reading that the early reissues (maybe not the newer ones) didn't have shanghai watch factory movements which would be a shame considering that's kinda the point.

Would only last 6 months.
My father's watch has lasted me 10 years, just need to change the battery twice a year.

However you can't buy the watch anywhere.

The watch wasn't retrieved this method though.

Hey bro
Look at the SevenFriday watches, their movement is a reliable Miyota Jap and they're a Zurich (swiss) company.

Also, they look pretty cool :D

You can get them from Gregory jewellers Parramatta

I'm still rocking the Apple Watch Series 4 which my wife got me to replace my Series 0.

Unfortunately I don't personally appreciate luxury watches. I considered getting a Tag Connected but decided it was neither a good luxury watch or a smartwatch.
