If I feel that the workload + my job is too much?

Do I need a good excuse to drop subjects?

Thanks

Just on a different topic (didn't want to start another thread),

If I study all core units of study for 1st year subjects but don't have all 1st year elective UoS fulfilled, I can still move on to study 2nd year subjects right?

Thanks.

Do you want to drop the 'course" (ie entirely leave uni and the entire degree') or do you want to drop an individual unit of study (ie one subject).
I suspect it is the latter (dropping an individual unit of study, based on some of the subsequent posts)

Answer is yes.

However suggest you read rule 2 of http://sydney.edu.au/handbooks/engineering/coursework/b_engineering.shtml, and rule 1? Esp rule 1c, of http://sydney.edu.au/handbooks/engineering/rules/faculty_resolutions.shtml

So for example, can I move on to do 2nd year core subjects with not having completed 1 or 2 elective units of study?

Not sure about the rules in eng, but most of the time if you meet the pre-reqs for any subject you can enroll in them assuming that your degree and structure allows you to. Eg: if your 2nd year ENG subject requires 12 junior ENG credits then its okay. There are also circumstances whereby you MUST finish specific 1000 subjects for 2nd year subjects.

what is the process of dropping the entire course by the way? Both before and after the HECS date. (although i might just finish off the semester if its after the HECS date i guess... )

i might have to, still figuring some stuff out.
