Basically I'm forced to do 4 finance courses in one semester due to complicated reasons. They're the only courses I can do and I have no other choice. These are the courses I am currently enrolled in: FINS1612, FINS2624, FINS3625, FINS3626. Is this too much? Will I be able to handle them in one semester?

I probably wouldn't recommend it unless you really love finance. Finance is pretty dry and if you don't like it, doing 4 courses of it might make ur semester difficult.

I actually did FINS1613 last semester. It was okay and I got a decent grade. I'm not sure if I really love finance, but at least I don't hate it for now. It is probably the only area of specialisation I'm interested in taking as my major for BCom, so I guess I'm going to end up taking those courses sometime in the future. Would it be better for me to take 3 courses this semester instead of 4?

FINS1613 doesn't truly reflect what studying finance is.

Yeah... but unfortunately I have to choose my major this year and I don't really have much choice. It's either accounting or finance.

I see. Yes I'm 2nd year. But I think that's for single commerce degree only. I'm doing BCom/BEc

I think 4 is a bit dull. I'm really on the same boat where next semester I think I will have to take 3-4 Accounting Subjects due to timetabling conflicts.

Why don't you take a few or one economics course instead?

That sucks.

Because I'm planning to transfer to Com/Law. So I can't take courses under BEc otherwise they won't be recognised and I would have wasted my time.

Hmm but more realistically, wouldn't you've already wasted time if you haven't successfully transferred into law by now?

Doing 8 FINS course for the next two semester however seems a bit tedious (assuming you're taking another 4 fins subjects next sem).

I'd rather die than take four finance courses, personally. But then again there are some Asians out there who live and breathe the stuff, and gl to them.
