Hey all. Haven't been on BOS for a week or two because it's been so hectic. I thought I'd write my thoughts and some comments on all of my subjects:
English Studies: We're reading a book titled Year of Wonders. It's okay, but not my cup of tea. Anyone read it? The thing I hate about English is that it takes up too much of my time, although I seem to be doing good.
Maths Studies 1+2: I have improved from last year which is great. I've had 3 tests now, each worth 20% of my semester grade. We're studying Quadratics in Maths 1 and Trig in Maths 2. (Another test Wednesday!)
Biology: Bio is my best subject. I'm really enjoying the content, and this week I wrote my first "senior level" Biology report. This took me a long while to get perfect and I was at school until 6pm doing it this evening.
Chemistry: I am also enjoying Chemistry. I have found, just as I did last year, that it is very beneficial to watch explanations on Youtube for Chem. We are doing a practical one out of two lessons a week, which I do not like so much.
Physics: To be honest, I am finding Physics slightly boring. It's not that I don't understand it, I just doing have a huge interest in it. I have decided to drop Physics next semester and instead do Specialist Maths (equivalent to hsc Maths Ext. I think).
Comment on my teachers: I am lucky to have an excellent teacher for Maths and Biology. She knows the curriculum very thoroughly, and is just a great teacher in general. Her Year 12 students always rank the best in the school, and she is so dedicated to her students. Not many teachers would go into school all holidays and late after school to help her students. My Chemistry and Physics teacher is okay. I find that he goes too fast sometimes because he is used to teaching year 12's, but he is one of the better Science teachers at my school. My English teacher is also good, and is working closely with the class so that we all succeed. This is because many of the English Studies students want to drop down into a lower class, which can't be done at the moment due to class sizes.
Hope everyone is doing well!
(Is it just me or does anyone else have to reserve their whole weekend just to do Maths?)
