(Can the point-gradient formula be applied to find the locus for the following questions)
Find the equation of the locus of a point P(x, y) that moves according to the following conditions:
a) The distance of P from the line x = 4 is equal to its distance from the line y = 1.
b) The distance of P from the line y = -5 is three-quarters of its distance from the line x = 2.
