Assuming I hit 93's - 94's in Chem, Phys, Eco and 95+ in 4U, 96+ in 3U?

External in the HSC's I mean.

Basically, how well will I have to do in my other subjects to make up for 84-85ish mark in english?
i did it in the 2012 HSC 99.60
88 eng adv
96 4u
99 3u
95 chem
93 physics
its not impossible

My family friend Jason Lay got 99.9 despite the fact of getting a mid band 5 in english. But that's because he came first 1st in physics, 8th in MX2 and 10th in MX1. To put that in retrospective, I think it is possible, but you need to perform really well in your other 8 units of study :p
Basically this.

But srsly, not doing well in English is making life harder for yourself if you want 99+

I know of someone who got a low band 5 for Eng and managed to get high 99s. But that's because he state ranked phys lol.
There's probably plenty of people in the past who have got 99+ ATAR despite getting 80-85 for HSC English.

I don't wanna disappoint you but your chances of getting 99+ is like 50% cos your mark for english brings you down.
lol

For reference I'm sitting on 87% raw in English right now, coming 3rd with about a 1-2% gap between the 3 of us @ a 250 school. If last year's group is anything to go off, the marks will be moderated up to maybe a low 90. I'll try my best for the HSC exam, but I'm not sure if I can pull the high 80s raw marks in the actual exam that are needed to B6 Advanced. Anyway it's stupid trying to predict the future, but if I get a B5 I think it'll be more likely to sit around 87-89. Does that improve my chances at all?

Edit: 1st in everything else, for reference.

Do HSC past papers and mark extremely harshly.
Physics/Chem raw 82%+
3u 65+/70, 77+/84
4u 84+/100, 100+/120

basically if you think you can do it you probably can't, you have prepare until you know u can

That's some pretty solid advice mate. Thanks! After my trials (which most of my teachers said won't be as difficult as they could be), I'll really stick into those past papers.
