What % should I get in order to see whether I can get a bandd 6. I have no idea of knowing because I go to a low ranked school. These papers will tell me how much I need to improve before hsc yes? Thanks

Edit: E4 whateves

Check CSSA past papers and the marking guidelines? They usually have a band indicator of what each question is. i.e. in this question if the student got the marks, they're looking at an E4 or something.

No.

It just means you're not likely to get a mid or high E4.

If you could get all the E1, E2, E3 questions CORRECT (i.e. 0 sillies whatsoever) then even if you can't do a few E4 level questions, you can still get an E4 (probably scrape).

Also depends on the ''aligning'' of the paper for your year.

Iirc, in 2012 - an E4 in MX1 was mid 50s/70 raw.

In 2013, a 50/70 raw alone in MX1 aligned up to a 91/92 exam mark around.

So E4 was like high 40s/70?

THANK YOU!!!! Yeah you're right, I got all of the others right, but I didn't get the e4 ones at all, seemed like a coincidence at first. Oh thank god that gives me some hope :)

For the bolded are you talking about CSSA?? I got 55/70 in the 2013 CSSA I just calculated it. Would that be an e4?

from memory it was about 52-53/70 in 2012 and last year i remember someone saying 48/70 was the bottom e4

he's talking about the HSC papers not CSSA

EDIT: with 55/70, yes you're on track for an e4 definitely

I got 61/70 in last years one if you want to put that into retrospective and my school is ranked 150-200's. So, I would say around 50-60 would be the ideal score.

Interested for marks/percentages needed for b6 in mx1 and the sciences for trial papers.
Across papers like cssa/independent/neap

And also can I stress one thing though, there is a greater tendency to make sillies under exam pressure.
