Advanced English 7/40 after trials, before trials I was first
MX2 - 4/7
MX1 - 4/19
Chem - 5/34
Eco - 3/23
Physics 3/25

School rank 200

Is it so hard to go from 97 to 99? I'm willing to put in the effort.
yes very hard compared to 90 -> 95

you really need to ace your externals to have a chance

i know 2 people who got 99.6 ATAR and their ranks were higher in a higher ranked school and their hsc mark and internal mark were about even for each sub

You do the same subjects as me :D
That said it's going to be hard. You need more than "effort" to get 99.6 lol. (and you need to get high in your other subjects as well! preferably mid - high band 6)

well ok guys what if I said I just want 99? Is that slightly easier than 99.6? I'm doing okayish with umat. Averaged 85 percentile with medentry.

I also did similar subjects except for chemistry and eco and I didn't get close to 99.6.

my ranks were (iirc)
MX1 - 2/~20
MX2 - 2/7 [Faken asian that was 1st]
phy - 1/20
adv eng - ~38/~80
legal - 4/~40
catholic - 1/82 [final mark was 50/50 looked sah good]

school rank ~600 gg

so yah, OP needs "more effort" but not getting 99 is not the end of the world. you can still get into most things with 93+

it looks good but no one talks about it after 3rd week at uni. The ones that are; I usually don't make friends with.

Wait if your atar estimate is below 95 with those decent ranks, i don't think 99+ is possible

Obviously your school thinks the cohort of each of your subjects are shit and the fact that they are very small probably explains why your atar estimate isn't that high. I saw you post before that your cohort is really strong, if that's the case and they are very smart then I think 99+ would be possible given that you absolutely crush the externals, but i'm not so sure about this given your school ranking

how about OP you don't worry about an ATAR estimate and just study and try your best?

Since you stuffed up your English trials can i just ask , have i totally screwed my hsc?

My ranks for all subjects before i did trials were in the top 10
-Business Studies (1st)
-Legal Studies (3rd)
-English Advanced (6th)
-Biology (7th)
-Chemistry (9th)
From normal class sizes in a top 200 school.

Anyway i completely screwed up my catholic paper trials for english - paper 1 and two. And im pretty sure my rank will drop just not sure by how much. Also they're worth 30% and i'm pretty sure i slightly passed if anything. How much will this impact my atar? If i smash the hsc english exams, will i still be able to get an atar over 90? thanks !

Is there a particular reason why you want to get 99.6+?
