nikon, for landscapes and portraits, also outdoor portraits
Not too familiar with the nikon catalogue.

In other news, i got rekt yesterday at unsw photodash 2014 without a general purpose lens (only had my 17-40L and 50mm with me). Due to this, i'm probably going to buy a tamron sp 24-70mm f/2.8 VC soon. I really can't justify spending 2k for the canon without IS considering i'd like to do video work as well.

Said event that i mentioned above. I'd strongly recommend joining your respective photo society if you're going into uni next year, it's great fun meeting other people with the same interests.

Yep, UNSW photoclub has nearly 500 members iirc (not all are active ofc). UTS and USYD has a photoclub as well but don't doubt the new south.

Search UNSW Photoclub on fb if you want to see the type of events we have.

Friend from a charity ride to Bathurst.
Nikon D5300 w/18-55m lens.
I like how just a few milliseconds after this shot, it would have looked like the michelin man was saying "what a head!" to the driver haha.

But its a great shot. Really captures that moment of when the driver is concentrating and is enjoying their time, while keeping a straight face.

He would have been able to if he put the camera in continuous shooting mode

I need a camera that I can carry with me all the time so I can take a photo at any moment. DSLRs are so big.
