Hey guys,
Just wondering, how much of hsc physics are in uni?
What topics in hsc physics will be needed in uni?

If i haven't done physics, can i grab a textbook and learn the topics needed or do I need to take the bridging course?
Just so you know, I am doing 4u maths for hsc.

Also would I be at a disadvantage if I didn't do physics in high school?

Thanks guys

almost all of hsc physics is irrelevant to uni (apart from some stuff about energy and forces you do in the space topic)

The only thing that you will need to know is probably newton's laws, forces, and vectors (which iirc is stuff you did in yr11)

I also answered this on your other thread

and this is taught in lectures anyways.

Since you're doing 4U I assume the maths won't be hurting you as much

If you do electrical, you will need a bit more regarding the HSC syllabus.

However, for most other streams of engineering, Preliminary Physics is sufficient and actually more useful to you. Only things from HSC for first semester Physics in uni are bits and pieces from the module "Space".

Thanks for the reply guys.

Should I take the bridging course?
To anyone that has done it, was it useful?

Not sure I'm afraid about bridging courses.

However, in my opinion its not necessary to know HSC Physics or even maybe Preliminary Physics too, to pass first semester Physics.

I would recommend picking up a textbook and reading the Preliminary Physics content though. That's all you really need to be honest.
