If it'ts not a prerequisite (Which i'm pretty sure it isn't, for most engineering) then you can just do a bridging course or self learn it later.

yeah there is a difference between assumed and prereq

assumed is like -> I am going to teach hopitals rule so I assume you know how to diff, factorise, etc

preseq is needing COMP1917 for COMP1927

Yeee Mechatronic Engineering master race~
ftfy ;)

I really want to take an engineering course in university of sydney but the thing is I'm only doing 2 unit maths for one of my courses. I dropped out of 3 unit because i had a really crappy teacher and was struggling with it and didn't want to scale my atar down. So the question is: can I still be able to do engineering in uni or are there any other ways before I can get into the course?
Not trying to be mean but I'm pointing out the truth here. Are you really, really sure that you WANT to do engineering when you only did 2u maths in high school? What makes you think you can cope with the difficult and hardcore Maths in engineering when people who did 4u maths in high school still struggle immensely in Engineering at Uni?

Also, at high school you still have your teachers to guide you through Maths no matter how crap they are. At Uni, you're on your own to learn all those difficult Maths. I don't see how you can cope with only 2unit maths when people did 3u and 4u maths for two years in high school and still struggle in University engineering courses.

And please don't waste your money on bridging courses. They try to cram everything in just a few weeks and it's all just false hope.

I think you have to aim for some other course which suits your ability better. You don't want to go into Sem 1 of uni and regret your choice.
