Going to be doing Computer Science and UNSW, what's a good language to become familiar with over the holidays?

C/C++ is the way to go. Python is usless for comp sci depending on what you go into

Depends what course/majors.

Bscit you also do a bit of c++, ICT Eng (Software) you'll never touch CSS or html but have some asm and C subjects.

As for the first question, learning any language will help - and its probably better you learn something completely different to what you learn in uni anyway. There's lot of good resources for beginners around for JavaScript and Python - so maybe give one of those a go.

Edit: I should also probably mention there are a lot of very bad old resources for JavaScript too, use something relatively new.

If you are going UNSW C and Shell....if you can, learn Python too.
